Self-esteem shapes the way we think, feel, and behave—it influences our mental health, relationships, and future. That’s why at Play Therapy with Dianna.K, we focus on helping children discover and build their Shine—the unique qualities that make them special.
During our Equichild Play Therapy sessions, we explored how both children and our equine friends have features that help them shine. We explored different pony physical featured images—eyes, legs, ears, and muzzle—and talked about what makes these features important for the pony. Big, bright eyes for seeing, strong legs for running, ears that listen carefully, a muzzle with whiskers for protection. Then, we reflected on ourselves.
Building self-esteem isn’t instant—it’s an ongoing journey. Each session helps children recognise their strengths, fostering confidence that will stay with them for life.
